I have a five year old Kenmore Elite upright freezer on my carport and it has recently started beeping an alarm and illuminating a door ajar light. The reset button will kill the alarm (but not the light) for a short while and then it restarts.Reset a Kenmore Ice Maker. Remove the front plate that covers the ice maker. The cover plate should come off with a simple tug. Find the on and off switch on the front of the ice maker's PC board and turn the machine off.
